Additional information

Highlights energy efficiency gains in cooling of data centres using active rear door heat exchangers. Introduces a novel way of modelling server racks within data centres to capture both small and large scales. Published in a high impact journal, with an industrial co-author from Airedale, has leveraged an industrial contribution of £30000 active rear door heat exchangers in the Leeds HPC facility for model validation (contact g.r.hannah@airedale.com). Research led directly to the launch of the professional industry association, the Data Centre Alliance (simoncw@datacentrealliance.org) and attracted research funding from Iceotope and 3M to the value of £112000 (Peter.Hopton@icetope.com).
