Ana Metne Taşınan Dipnotlar: Türk Edebiyatı ve Kültürlerarasılık Üzerine Yazılar
This book proposes new areas of research and offers new interpretations in the context of post-Tanzimat Turkish literary history. While discussing the role of non-Muslim writers in 19th/early 20th century Turkish literature, ignored by Turkish literary historiography, it also studies poets and writers who were marginalized because of their political views. Possible new readings of the works of “canonical” poets such as Yahya Kemal and Behçet Necatigil are also suggested. Comparative discussions of poets such as Yehuda Amichai, Nizar Qabbani and Negritude poets are part of a wider challenge against the nationalist discourse which underpins much of Turkish literary historiography.
