Additional information

<13> This is an extension of the work in reference [33] of the article, and is work done during Prof Subramanian's visit as a visiting professor to the Department/CAMSS, by introducing a pure two-dimensional (2D) context-free grammar (P2DCFG), and by investigating the rectangular picture generative power of this 2D grammar model and certain closure properties. An analogue of this 2D grammar model called pure 2D hexagonal context-free grammar (P2DHCFG) is also considered to generate hexagonal picture arrays on triangular grids.
