A new interpolation scheme (SFDI) is suggested to address current inefficiencies in interpolation schemes and improve robustness of existing interpolation scheme related to a meshless method. The test cases showed that the scheme could save up to 80% CPU time with the same level of accuracy compared with the scheme normally used in the Meshless Local Petrove-Galerkinn and other meshless methods. This makes it possible to simulate violent waves problems and their impact on marine structures on a desktop PC. The contents of this paper were presented in an invited keynote address in ICCES 2008 conference.
