Additional information

A percolated system consisting of polymers and small molecules have received a particular attention for the development of excitonic photovoltaic devices. Phthalocyanines, especially lead phthalocyanine (due to a chemical structure resembling of chlorophylls), have proved to be potential candidates for renewable energy harvesting. The formation of Schottky barrier resulting from exposure to oxygen was highlighted and a model to evaluate Schottky capacitance was presented. Such a characterisation enables researchers to develop blends of polymers and lead phthalocyanine for fast charge transfer and improved charge collection at the metal electrode.
