<16>Invited submission following presentation at 2008 UK e-Science all-hands meeting. Two rounds of reviewing before acceptance.

This is multidisciplinary work, stemming from seed-corn funding from the “Bridging the Gaps” program. Follow-up has taken two directions: (I) a Leverhulme-funded project “Formal techniques for sensor network design, management and optimization” (ii) a PhD (Duan) developing an environment for the deployment of legacy programs as RESTful services. Duan won a 6-month internship at the National Institute of Informatics (Japan) to explore speculative evaluation. Duan has a post-doc position at Sheffield, transferrring this technology into an EU-funded project on skeletal modelling (Viceconti).
